Footy Addicts partners with TackleAfrica ahead of London Football Marathon

Footy Addicts is partnering with TackleAfrica to raise awareness and support important fundraising events in London and UK. TackleAfrica, an established charitable organisation, recognised the potential of football as a means of bringing people together, and providing a platform from which to convey hugely important messages about HIV and AIDS across Africa.

Footy Addicts is a social platform that connects football enthusiasts, giving everyone the opportunity to play football everywhere, anytime. With a growing community of over 100,000+ users in the UK, and over 450 grassroots football games organised every week, Footy Addicts has enabled footballers to discover, organise, and play football.

Footy Addicts and TackleAfrica have a shared focus on diversity, inclusion and accessibility. Footy Addicts games have brought people together from more than 60 different nationalities and are also working closely with the LondonFA to double women’s participation in grassroots football in London.

TackleAfrica’s work is possible, in part, due to the generosity of the UK’s grassroots football community and Footy Addicts, being the biggest open community of grassroots football players, is honoured to support it. TackleAfrica’s Football Marathon is a unique fundraising event. Every year over 900 people take part in the regional 12-hour football tournaments, testing their limits and supporting young people in Africa.

I know that the Footy Addicts community is always ready to get behind good causes, particularly when it involves playing more football. Entering the Football Marathon is a great way to make up for lost time on the pitch playing with your mates and will support TackleAfrica’s important work

We are very excited to be partnering with Footy Addicts. Football is at the core of our organisation and by working with Footy Addicts we hope to give an idea of what we represent to the players who take part in the more than 1,500 Footy Addicts games per month. We look forward to welcoming teams to the London Football Marathon kicking off soon
